My name is Ray Dowdle, and Executive Impacts is my leadership development company. I came to leadership development after a successful career in media and technology companies both large and small. I've managed sales teams, operations teams, and marketing teams; young talent, experienced executives, aggressive sales people, and managers of managers. I've developed leaders who have had long, successful careers and I've excused managers from positions where their behaviors or talents were not a good fit.
I have the experience to recognize where managers can improve and the tools to develop and implement successful plans for managers and executives to be the best leaders they can be. And I truly enjoy what I'm doing!
Leadership Development
All leaders have established strengths; I work with the client to acknowledge weaknesses by identifying evidence that indicates a weakness and exploring every aspect of that compromising behavior. The client and I then address the specifically identified weaknesses in a deliberate, methodical process. I help them understand precisely what needs to be done to improve, and leave the client with an action plan for making their changes long-lasting.
My leadership development is not therapy and it's not psychology; it identifies a manager's leadership weaknesses and improves them through specific, actionable behavioral changes.
Each client becomes a better leader; one who can manage more effectively and introduce
what they've learned to their team to make them better as well.
Executive Coaching as a Management Tool
As a manager, you can't sit still and expect to get better results without constant improvement. But too often managers are left to improve their personal leadership behaviors on their own. That's why the CEOs of many of the world's largest companies utilize executive coaching for themselves: if they can get even a little bit better at leading their teams, it can translate into millions (or billions) of dollars of P&L improvement. That same formula works for any leader who manages a team; get better at leading your team and get better business results.
Corporate Leadership
What boss has managers below them who are all perfect? Executive Impacts provides senior management with an executive development resource to improve the performance of their managers. The senior manager identifies the leadership challenges they see with a given manager, and Executive Impacts works with that manager to address those challenges, keeping senior management informed of all progress and findings. It's the multiplier effect: one senior manager implementing a leadership development plan for their managers leads to better staff performance, a happier and more cohesive team, and stronger P&L results.
